BLACK WHITE OR COLOUR?

I like black and white as a single or a couple, the DYNAMIC DUO. Pure, bold or complementing one another with added colour, the combinations are endless. In the era of black and white TV you concentrated on the action and dialogue and drew upon your creative license and imaging what colors they had actually used. In a sense you colourized your own show. SHAZAM and then there was colour and our viewing pleasure has forever changed. TCM’s FILM NOIR in black and white holds us in suspense as grey lurks in the shadows.

In Pleasantville, a drama and fantasy film, the first part of the story was colourless  and then colour ebbs in, then a splash and bursts into vibrant colour.

Gone With The Wind a 1939 classic movie swept us away in Technicolor and took our breath away. You could almost feel the red velvet nap in Scarlett O’Hara’s dress. Black, White or Colour, Your Choice.

Summer Time in the city back of my neck getting hot and gritty. Calls for COLOUR in a bottle. We do choose the beverage of our choice by colour and what we think that colour represents Blue Hawaii surfs up, Berry Blast, laser tag, Message in a bottle, quench your thirst with a refreshing. cooling and energizing drink. Did you buy that ? I did and it truly was and lived up to it’s colour.

Soft Summer scents of rose, sandalwood to abstract flowers and than exotic magnolia and jasmine calls for COLOUR in a bottle. Seductive shapes, alluring names draws us in with fresh and clean with the promise of bewitching hot nights filled with music and dancing and the promise of mystery and passion. Make scents to you? Rainbows Everywhere

We all love Rainbows, from a child drawing one on a sheet of paper to the great significance of it’s colours and meanings. The colours of the RAINBOW are and in order RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE and INDIGO. I shall delve into this at a later time as I realized I have enough notes to write a book on this subject ,so let’s make this carefree and colourful for Summer time.

The first thing children draw is usually a big bright YELLOW sun, lots of sunshine and happiness there. A lot of times the next item would be a RAINBOW another word/symbol associated with lots of colour and fun. If you have ever watched Sponge Bob Square Pants he says imagination with this hands and a RAINBOW appears in between. I think that ‘s a wonderful idea and image and for now I will focus on the FUN aspect.

I’m sure you’ve seen at the end of a rainbow a pot of gold may appear? We’ve also been asked to taste the RAINBOW with Skittles,  A variety of foods are offered from Ice cream, sprinkles, cookies, cake and other mouth watering delights hinting that something special is happening. Look at RAINBOW nails and hair, it’s a party happening and you don’t even have to go out, just look in the mirror and smile a BIG smile.
